Job Summary or Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join a high-profile, long-term engineering project based in Almelo, Netherlands. This full-time, 3-year role involves leading quality control planning, supporting compliance across complex technical systems, and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years’ experience in quality engineering within technical or nuclear environments, strong knowledge of international standards, and fluency in both Dutch and English. Occasional travel to the UK may be required

Key Responsibilities

As a Quality Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring the quality, compliance, and continuous improvement of our project delivery. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up, applying, and maintaining Quality Control Plans (QCPs)
  • Analysing complex system data to support fact-based decisions
  • Participating in design and implementation phases of projects
  • Initiating and leading
  • Continuous Improvement (CI) projects
  • Capturing and applying lessons learned from quality incidents
  • Coaching teams on regulatory compliance and best practices
  • Leading internal and external audits, including suppliers
  • Reviewing and advising on supplier and contractor documentation
  • Defining, monitoring, and sharing quality KPIs and dashboards
  • Supporting the local Quality Assurance Program tailored to UTD

Required Qualifications/Skills

We're seeking someone with:

  • A background in engineering or technical business processes (electrical, mechanical, systems, or instrumentation)
  • Strong experience in managing quality within technical projects
  • Deep understanding of international standards (ISO, ASTM, DIN, BSI)
  • Proven ability to design and implement Quality Control Processes
  • Experience conducting supplier audits and inspections
  • Strong analytical thinking and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel to the UK as part of the role
  • 5–7 years' experience as a Quality Engineer in technical or nuclear projects
  • Track record with certification processes in the technical sector
  • Ability to create integrated QCPs and manage audit frameworks
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and delivery-focused
