Quality Assessor Inspector – Teesside

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quality professional to join our team in Teesside. This role will be key to ensuring contractual compliance, maintaining high standards of quality management, and driving continuous improvement across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit Execution: Plan, schedule, and conduct internal and external audits to verify compliance with contractual obligations, project specifications, and quality management systems.

  • Contractual Compliance: Interpret and assess project-specific quality requirements, ensuring alignment across all project stages.

  • Documentation Review: Review and verify quality documentation including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Plans, and supplier quality records.

  • Root Cause Analysis: Lead structured investigations that are systematic, evidence-based, prevention-focused, and collaborative with stakeholders.

  • Non-Conformance Management: Identify, document, and track non-conformances; lead corrective and preventive action processes.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure quality expectations are met.

  • Reporting: Prepare detailed audit reports, quality metrics, and dashboards for internal and client reporting.

  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to quality processes and systems, based on audit findings and industry best practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • HNC (or equivalent) in a Technical/Quality Management discipline.

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in quality assurance within EPCm project environments.

  • Strong technical knowledge of pipelines and associated welding codes (e.g., BS 4515, API 1104).

  • In-depth understanding of ISO 9001 and relevant quality standards.

  • Proficiency in auditing techniques and tools (e.g., ISO 19011).

  • Familiarity with engineering and procurement documentation and workflows.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Certified Lead Auditor qualification.

  • Experience supporting mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
