Onshore Planner

Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Contract: 2+ Year Contract
Working Pattern: Hybrid (4 Days Office / 1 Day Home)
Start Date: ASAP

Land & Sea Resources are currently recruiting for an Onshore Planner on behalf of Spirit Energy to join their Operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting safe, efficient and reliable onshore operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and continuously improving integrated planning processes, ensuring operational and maintenance activities are prioritised, coordinated and fully prepared for execution. Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and Projects teams, you will help drive planning excellence while supporting the safe and efficient delivery of operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, maintain and continuously improve the asset planning process, ensuring consistency, standardisation and alignment with industry best practice.
  • Develop and maintain integrated operational plans that support safe, efficient and reliable onshore operations.
  • Compile and facilitate 28-day and 3-month (3M) plans, ensuring activities are prioritised, coordinated and ready for execution.
  • Provide day-to-day planning support to Operations, ensuring priorities align with safety, asset integrity and production objectives.
  • Work closely with the Onshore Operations Manager and wider operational teams to coordinate planning activities and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Engage with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and support functions to ensure plans are fully integrated and aligned with business priorities.
  • Ensure work scopes are sufficiently developed and prepared ahead of execution, identifying and resolving constraints where required.
  • Contribute to the 8-quarter (8Q) planning process, supporting long-term planning, resource forecasting and alignment with operational objectives.
  • Monitor planning performance, including plan compliance, schedule adherence and planning KPIs, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support integration of operational, maintenance and project activities across the wider asset.
  • Provide offshore planning cover for short durations where required.
  • Promote continuous improvement across planning processes, systems and operational performance.
  • Undertake any other associated duties as reasonably required.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in integrated planning within an operational, industrial, energy or oil & gas environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and SAP.
  • Experience developing and maintaining integrated operational schedules.
  • Good understanding of Project Controls, including Planning, Cost, Risk and Management of Change (MoC).
  • Strong analytical skills with a systematic approach and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple business functions.
  • Experience monitoring planning performance and delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to prioritise workload within a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Technical qualification or engineering background is desirable.
  • Project Management or Planning qualifications are advantageous.
  • Strong commitment to safe working practices and continuous operational improvement.

Working Arrangements

This role is based in Barrow-in-Furness.

Spirit Energy currently operates a hybrid working arrangement for office-based workers:

  • Four days per week in the office.
  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are mandatory office days.
  • The fourth office day can be either Monday or Friday, depending on team requirements.
  • Contractors may work in the office five days per week if preferred.

Please note:

  • No travel or accommodation allowance is available.
  • PAYE contractors only (no umbrella companies).
