Land & Sea Resources are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Technician to join the operations and maintenance team at a gas terminal in Barrow-in-Furness.

This is an opportunity to become part of an established project team, supporting the productivity, reliability and safe operation of the terminal through effective electrical maintenance and technical expertise.

The Opportunity

Working as part of the maintenance team, you will play an important role in keeping electrical plant and equipment safe, reliable and available.

You will bring your experience to an environment where technical competence, safety, teamwork and doing the job properly matter.

The role includes routine and non-routine maintenance, fault finding, defect rectification and technical investigation, alongside supporting modifications, commissioning and decommissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine and non-routine electrical maintenance and defect repairs.
  • Investigate electrical and technical issues affecting critical plant and equipment.
  • Identify practical and effective solutions to support safe and reliable operations.
  • Support commissioning, decommissioning and plant modification activities.
  • Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Supervise contractors, vendors and other personnel where required.
  • Work within site permit systems and established safe working practices.
  • Undertake Power Technician duties and, where suitably qualified, act as SAEP/REP.
  • Support HSE, process safety and operational requirements across the terminal.
  • Contribute your knowledge and experience to maintaining the long-term performance of an established asset.

What You Bring

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Technician who can bring both technical capability and a strong operational mindset.

You will ideally have:

  • Demonstrable experience within petrochemical, process, operations or maintenance environments.
  • Experience of production or maintenance operations within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong electrical maintenance and engineering knowledge.
  • CompEx certification – ideally held.
  • HV, SAEP or REP qualifications – advantageous.
  • Experience supervising contractors and other personnel.
  • A practical approach to fault finding and problem solving.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to safety, quality and environmental standards.

Contract Details

Location: Barrow-in-Furness Gas Terminal
Contract: 2 years
Working Pattern: 9-day fortnight
Hours: 7:30am start, 9 hours per day
Rate: £306.85 per day PAYE + 33 days' holiday
Start Date: Immediate / October 2026

The working pattern is Monday to Friday one week, followed by Monday to Thursday the following week.
