IS Apps Lead

Location: Barrow-in-Furness or Aberdeen
Contract: 2-Year Contract
Working Pattern: Hybrid (4 Days Office / 1 Day Home)

Land & Sea Resources are currently recruiting for an IS Apps Lead on behalf of Spirit Energy to join their Information Systems team.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting and leading business-critical information systems during the final operational phase of the Morecambe Hub. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, oversee application support and development, and ensure the reliability and continuous improvement of business applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the support, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications.
• Manage application performance, availability, and ongoing improvements.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand operational requirements and deliver effective IT solutions.
• Coordinate system upgrades, testing, and implementation activities.
• Ensure applications remain secure, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.
• Support vendors and third-party service providers where required.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership across the Information Systems function.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practice across application management.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading enterprise application support or information systems teams.
• Strong understanding of business applications and application lifecycle management.
• Experience managing third-party suppliers and vendors.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working within the energy, engineering, manufacturing, or other complex industrial sectors is advantageous.

Working Arrangements

This role is based in Barrow-in-Furness or Aberdeen.

Spirit Energy currently operates a hybrid working arrangement for office-based workers:

• Four days per week in the office.
• Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are mandatory office days.
• The fourth office day can be either Monday or Friday, depending on team requirements.
• Contractors may work in the office five days per week if preferred.

• No travel or accommodation allowance is available.
• PAYE contractors only (no umbrella companies).
