Hub Engineering Manager

Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Contract: 2+ Year Contract
Working Pattern: Hybrid (4 Days Office / 1 Day Home)
Start Date: ASAP

Land & Sea Resources are currently recruiting for a Hub Engineering Manager on behalf of Spirit Energy to join their Operations team.

The successful candidate will lead the engineering function across the hub, ensuring engineering activities support production delivery, asset integrity, project development and decommissioning while maintaining compliance with company procedures, UK legislation and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall engineering leadership and direction for the Morecambe Hub assets, ensuring engineering activities support production delivery, asset integrity, reliability, and safety and environmental performance.
  • Develop, maintain and deliver the asset engineering plan aligned with business objectives and asset strategies.
  • Work closely with Maintenance teams to ensure maintenance strategies align with asset risk profiles, operating context and lifecycle stage.
  • Support the optimisation of asset availability and reliability while effectively managing engineering and integrity risks.
  • Ensure operability and maintainability are considered in all engineering decisions throughout the asset lifecycle.
  • Provide engineering leadership for asset-based projects, modifications and improvement initiatives.
  • Support Management of Change (MoC) processes relating to engineering changes and asset modifications.
  • Identify, assess and manage engineering and integrity risks affecting safety, production and regulatory compliance.
  • Support budget planning and cost control for engineering-related activities.
  • Ensure engineering compliance with applicable legislation, Safety Case, COMAH and SEMS requirements, company standards and industry best practice.
  • Support regulatory engagement, audits and inspections, ensuring engineering actions are completed effectively.
  • Lead the development and implementation of design integrity and engineering standards, maintaining ownership of technical risk management standards.
  • Prioritise and deploy engineering resources across the operating asset portfolio.
  • Evaluate and implement new and emerging engineering technologies to improve asset performance and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in an Engineering or Technology discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng).
  • Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams within an operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of asset integrity, lifecycle management, safety-critical equipment and barrier management.
  • Experience within the oil & gas or wider energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of UK legislation, regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Experience leading engineering strategy, maintenance optimisation and technical governance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, leadership and communication skills.
  • Offshore BOSIET and Offshore Medical certification.
  • Ability to lead engineering teams while supporting safe, reliable and efficient operations.

Working Arrangements

This role is based in Barrow-in-Furness.

Spirit Energy currently operates a hybrid working arrangement for office-based workers:

  • Four days per week in the office.
  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are mandatory office days.
  • The fourth office day can be either Monday or Friday, depending on team requirements.
  • Contractors may work in the office five days per week if preferred.

Please note:

  • No travel or accommodation allowance is available.
  • PAYE contractors only (no umbrella companies).
