We are recruiting for Marine Electrical Fitters for work within all business unit areas at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth, this could see you working on Warships, Submarines or within our Factories supporting delivering these complex engineering projects. Using your electrical experience, you’ll work on a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment from distribution, command, and control systems. Such as Weapons, Navigation, and communications.

Working to engineering drawings and technical specifications, you’ll also overhaul existing and install new equipment, you could also be carrying out system and equipment functional tests and surveys.

You will need the ability to read engineering drawings, to interpret work instructions and be competent in the use of general workshop tools & machinery specific to electrical engineering.
Ideally you will have worked in the marine engineering industry with experience of Royal Navy ships and submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels or large commercial ships - although other relevant experience from other engineering sectors will be considered.

Essential Experience:

Demonstratable experience of working within high performing engineering teams focused on delivering engineering projects.

Demonstrable experience of working on the removal, Installation and overhaul of Marine electrical equipment with a particular focus on weapons handling equipment, communication systems, auxiliary systems & power generation equipment.

Preferable additional experience:
Experience of working within marine electrical engineering environment.
Time served apprentice within the field of marine electrical engineering / naval engineering environment
Qualifications required (at least one of the following):

Indentured Apprenticeship in an Electrical discipline:

Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in an Electrical discipline
Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification

Ability to obtain and hold SC Security clearance is a requirement of this role
