Our Client is a reputable law firm with a strong presence in the South Lakes, Lancaster and Morecambe Bay areas, offering expert services across various practice areas. They are known for providing tailored legal solutions to our clients and are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented legal assistant specialising in private client law to join our dedicated team.

Job Summary or Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Lawyer (Solicitor or FCilex) with 3 to 5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) to join our client's legal team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing a growing caseload of commercial work, with a particular focus on commercial property transactions, leases, and business acquisitions or disposals. The role offers the opportunity to work in an autonomous environment, with minimal supervision, requiring a proactive approach to managing complex legal matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice on commercial property transactions, including the sale and purchase of commercial properties, leases, and related matters.
  • Advise on buying and selling businesses, including drafting and negotiating contracts, due diligence, and structuring deals.
  • Manage and oversee commercial contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and mitigating risks.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as leases, sales agreements, and other commercial contracts.
  • Provide clear, concise, and commercially focused advice to clients, balancing legal considerations with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the client’s internal teams, external advisors, and stakeholders to deliver effective legal solutions.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to managing and progressing casework, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of satisfaction with legal services provided.

Required Qualifications/Skills

  • 3-5 years’ PQE as a Commercial Property Lawyer, Solicitor, or FCilex, with significant experience in commercial property law, leases, and buying and selling businesses.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload with minimal supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • A sound understanding of commercial contracts and corporate law, particularly in the context of property transactions and business acquisitions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Good IT skills, including familiarity with audio-transcription, precedent management software, and other office systems.
  • A high level of attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
