About the Role

Head of Supply Chain & Procurement

Location: Barrow-in-Furness

Land & Sea Resources are currently recruiting for a Head of Supply Chain & Procurement to join the team in Barrow-in-Furness. This is a senior leadership position responsible for providing strategic direction across contracting, procurement, logistics and inventory, ensuring the supply chain function delivers strong commercial performance while maintaining robust governance, compliance and risk management.

The successful candidate will lead the development and delivery of an integrated Supply Chain Management strategy aligned with wider business objectives. You will be responsible for developing both short and long-term supply chain plans, driving continuous improvement and introducing innovative approaches and industry best practice to improve operational and commercial performance.

A key part of the role will be overseeing contract management and governance across the portfolio. You will ensure appropriate controls, reporting and governance are in place, provide assurance around major contractors, monitor contract performance and manage commercial risks, disputes and claims where required. You will also play a leading role in supplier and contractor due diligence, onboarding and ongoing performance management.

You will maintain oversight of supply chain risks, using data and KPIs to monitor supplier performance, identify areas for improvement and ensure appropriate intervention where required. The role will also act as the primary interface for supply chain audits, ensuring actions are effectively closed and embedded while maintaining compliance with relevant regulatory, governance and internal frameworks.

The position will require strong stakeholder management skills, working collaboratively across business functions to ensure effective alignment and consistent application of supply chain policies and processes. You will also support the development of organisational capability through training and guidance on SCM procedures and best practice.

To be successful, you will have significant experience leading Supply Chain Management teams within an onshore and offshore upstream environment, together with strong knowledge of contracting, procurement, contract management, logistics and inventory management. You will have a strong understanding of the legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the upstream sector and a proven track record of negotiating and delivering complex commercial agreements.

You will be a confident and experienced commercial leader with expertise in supply chain governance, risk-based controls and the development of innovative commercial solutions. A degree qualification is required, with a relevant professional qualification such as MCIPS, CILT or equivalent being highly desirable.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain and Procurement professional to take a senior leadership role within a strategically important organisation, influencing commercial performance, operational efficiency and supply chain capability across the business.
