Land & Sea Resources are currently recruiting for a Production Technician on behalf of Spirit Energy to join their Operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major UK energy operator, playing a key role in the safe, reliable and efficient operation of onshore gas processing facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring process plant and utilities equipment, supporting production targets, maintaining asset integrity and ensuring compliance with company procedures and industry regulations. Working as part of a shift team, you will contribute to safe operations while supporting maintenance activities, process optimisation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate high-pressure gas processing plant and utilities equipment in accordance with company procedures and operating standards.
  • Monitor plant performance using control room systems and routine field inspections, recording operational data and reporting performance.
  • Support the safe and environmentally responsible operation of gas processing facilities while maintaining production targets and product quality.
  • Act as an Area Authority, monitoring and controlling activities within designated plant areas in accordance with permit-to-work procedures.
  • Support the preparation of permits to work and prepare plant for planned maintenance activities, ensuring safe isolation and reinstatement.
  • Identify equipment defects, raise work orders and support the progression of maintenance activities through the maintenance management system.
  • Carry out first-line maintenance and minor remedial activities where appropriate.
  • Analyse plant performance data, identify opportunities for operational improvement and prepare production reports.
  • Monitor stock levels of chemicals, consumables and spares to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Collect and analyse process samples to verify product quality and environmental compliance.
  • Develop and review plant operating procedures in line with company standards and statutory requirements.
  • Provide on-the-job training and technical support to other Production Technicians where appropriate.
  • Promote an Incident Free Workplace culture by complying with HSE policies, process safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Undertake emergency response duties and maintain the competencies required for emergency response roles.
  • Undertake any other associated duties as reasonably required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating process plant within the oil & gas, petrochemical or energy industries.
  • Sound understanding of engineering principles and process plant operations.
  • Knowledge of process safety, permit-to-work systems and safe operating procedures.
  • Ability to identify plant abnormalities and support troubleshooting activities.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to work effectively within a shift team.
  • Ability to interpret operating procedures and accurately record production and operational data.
  • BTEC, ONC or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline is preferred.
  • A recognised Engineering Apprenticeship with relevant industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Practical experience operating gas processing or petrochemical facilities is preferred.
  • Previous experience within offshore or onshore production operations is advantageous.

Working Arrangements
