Land & Sea Resources are currently recruiting for an Asset Integrity Authority on behalf of Spirit Energy to join their HSE & Assurance team.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and compliant operation of critical energy assets. The successful candidate will provide technical authority and governance for asset integrity management, ensuring integrity risks are effectively identified, assessed and controlled throughout the asset lifecycle. Working closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations and HSE teams, you will support continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with UK legislation, industry standards and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for Asset Integrity, providing assurance across mechanical, structural, corrosion and process containment disciplines.
• Develop, maintain and continuously improve the Asset Integrity Management Framework, including policies, standards and procedures.
• Ensure asset integrity risks are identified, assessed and managed in accordance with company risk management processes.
• Analyse reliability and performance trends relating to Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) and maintenance activities to identify improvement opportunities.
• Investigate failures of safety-critical equipment, identifying root causes and recommending actions to improve reliability, reduce risk and minimise operational disruption.
• Produce asset integrity reports and performance metrics in line with Business Management System (BMS), Maintenance Management System (MMS) and HSEQ reporting requirements.
• Utilise SAP to analyse planned and corrective maintenance activities, supporting data-driven decision making.
• Support engineering disciplines with technical investigations into equipment failures and integrity-related issues.
• Facilitate Root Cause Analysis investigations and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented and closed out.
• Manage Independent Verification Body (IVB), Lloyd's verification activities and other third-party asset integrity studies where required.
• Ensure maintenance integrity procedures comply with HSEQ standards and support safe, reliable and compliant operations.
• Administer, monitor and manage asset integrity verification activities and written verification schemes.
• Provide technical input into maintenance strategies, including condition-based monitoring and asset reliability initiatives.
• Provide technical support to Asset Integrity Leads across the business.
• Act as a Lead Investigator using Kelvin TopSet investigation techniques to support incident investigations.
• Undertake any other associated duties as reasonably required.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in an Engineering or Technology discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
• Extensive experience in Asset Integrity Management within the oil & gas, energy or other high-hazard industries.
• Strong knowledge of the UK regulatory environment, industry standards and engineering best practice.
• Sound understanding of engineering principles and their practical application to asset integrity and reliability.
• Experience working with Maintenance Management Systems, including SAP.
• Knowledge of verification schemes, QA/QC principles and HSEQ standards, including ISO and OHSAS.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret engineering and maintenance data.
• Experience facilitating Root Cause Analysis investigations and implementing corrective actions.
• Experience in event management and investigation techniques, including Kelvin TopSet, is desirable.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical decision-making.

Working Arrangements

This role is based in Barrow-in-Furness.

Spirit Energy currently operates a hybrid working arrangement for office-based workers:

• Four days per week in the office.
• Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are mandatory office days.
• The fourth office day can be either Monday or Friday, depending on team requirements.
• Contractors may work in the office five days per week if preferred.

Please note:

• No travel or accommodation allowance is available.
• PAYE contractors only (no umbrella companies).
