Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Compressor Technician with a strong background in rotating equipment to join our team on a fixed-term basis. This role involves the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of compressors and associated rotating machinery to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach, strong mechanical expertise, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team within an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on compressors, pumps, turbines, motors, and other rotating equipment
Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical faults, including issues related to vibration, alignment, lubrication, and bearings
Dismantle, repair, and reassemble compressors and auxiliary equipment in line with manufacturer specifications and company procedures
Perform alignment, balancing, and testing of rotating equipment using precision tools and instrumentation
Monitor equipment performance, maintain operational logs, and recommend improvements to enhance reliability
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices
Work closely with operations and engineering teams to maximise equipment uptime and performance
Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, inspections, and spare parts usage
Support shutdowns, turnarounds, and continuous improvement initiatives as required
Required Qualifications and Skills
Proven experience as a Compressor Technician or Rotating Equipment Technician in an industrial or process environment
Strong understanding of rotating machinery, including compressors, pumps, motors, and turbines
Hands-on experience with alignment, balancing, vibration analysis, and condition monitoring techniques
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and maintenance manuals
Competent in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
Strong problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
Good knowledge of industrial safety standards and procedures
Relevant mechanical maintenance, rotating equipment, or vibration analysis certifications are desirable
