Location: Washington, UK
Salary: £29,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time

We are a growing Industrial Engineering company experiencing exciting expansion. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to our continued success.

Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Stores Person to help manage and maintain our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth stock control, accurate inventory management, and efficient movement of goods in and out of our facilities — both within the UK and overseas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain stock levels through regular inventory checks.

  • Operate forklifts safely (preference, not essential) to load and unload products in compliance with safety regulations.

  • Utilise warehouse management and procurement systems (e.g., Sage) for tracking inventory and orders.

  • Coordinate goods in, goods out, and shipments nationally and internationally.

  • Handle materials with care, including picking, packing, and preparing items for dispatch.

  • Perform heavy lifting using proper techniques to prevent injury.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of storage areas and the sales floor.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous warehouse or stores experience, ideally in the industrial engineering sector.

  • Proficient in materials handling, including loading and unloading goods.

  • Mechanical knowledge of equipment operation is a plus.

  • Strong ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Proactive approach to teamwork and problem-solving.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
