Finance Manager (Remote with Occasional Site Meetings)

Location: Primarily remote, with occasional on-site or meeting attendance
Duration: Contract or permanent

We’re hiring a hands-on, detail-oriented Finance Manager to support a portfolio of contracts across a highly collaborative and commercially driven environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified, part-qualified, or QBE finance professional to join a dynamic team in a role that combines financial control, commercial insight, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial management across a portfolio of contracts

• Work closely with project and commercial teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and timesheet validation

• Deliver robust financial reporting including month-end close, management accounts, reconciliations, and CLR reports

• Maintain strong cost controls, balance sheet reconciliations, and project cashflow management

• Support and respond to internal/external audits and client cost audits

• Manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments

• Champion automation and process improvements across finance and operations

• Provide financial insight for project setup, supplier arrangements, and contract delivery

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in project finance, preferably within consultancy or construction environments

• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Comfortable working independently and proactively managing deadlines

• Experience with Oracle E1 or similar ERP systems (desirable)

• Understanding of Costain systems/processes (beneficial)

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), part-qualified, or QBE

• Background in planning, reporting, and financial controls

• Claims, cash forecasting, and audit support experience highly valued
