Sheet Metal Worker required in North west

The candidate need to be conversant with all sheet metal working tools and machines ( rolls powered and manual, guillotine, folder, press brake,  geka, welding mag / tig, polishing etc)  in a production environment making mainly mould tools from 2 to 5mm thick mild steel. Occasional aluminium and stainless steel work, must be able to do their own pattern development as required,Generally the parts come in laser profiled , so the marking out / pattern development is not a major part. It is forming, assembling , welding and polishing/ grinding that is mainly required.

Materials range from 2mm sheet to 12mm plate and various sections and box sections are used- mainly carbon steel, but aluminium and stainless steel are also commonplace
Quality and Time is of importance and also flexibility in working hours to ensure that the mould tools and parts are manufactured and delivered as agreed

Ability to work on own initiative, unsupervised but  also as part of a team is essential

Ideally 6 years experience as a sheet metal worker, but I will speak to people who have less experience but are proficient and confident

rate of pay TBC  working hours 08;00 to 16;30, Monday to Thursday and 08;00 to 15;30,   overtime rate TBC  with 1 hour before and 1 hour after as standard, Saturday mornings most weeks sometimes Pm’s required

The opportunity is for a Workshop Foreman to complete projects and deliver high quality products to international clients for our client in North West.

The candidate for this position will be reporting to the Workshop Manager. The ideal candidate for this position will have a background in Fabrication / Welding and Machining  and also understand the Oil & Gas and Nuclear sector.

The Workshop Foreman will be working alongside the Project team and will be responsible for the manufacturing process within the workshop ensuring all the customers’ needs are met. It envisaged that the ideal candidate for this position will have the ability to work in a fast paced environment and remain calm and organised whilst carrying out work and leading the team.

This opportunity for the Workshop Foreman is for a candidate who is looking to progress in their career. The Workshop Foreman should have experience of working in a fast paced engineering workshop.

Ability to fault find and quality inspect completed goods prior to dispatching

Monitor job progression and timings

Check timesheets daily

Issue work to tradesmen and observe the progress is on time, correct and to standard

Welders required in Scandinavia ASAP

We require 2 x TIG, 2 x MIG and 6 x STICK welders to work on a project in Scandinavia – starting ASAP, one trip lasting until 25th September

Hours: up to 11 hours per day, 7 days a week. Experience: 8 years + Rates TBC
